Thursday, April 9th, and Friday April 10th. A news release, from JBS said
that it had received formal notification from the United Food and Commercial
Workers, Local 7, that it will end its strike and has made an unconditional
offer for employees to return to work on Tuesday, April 7th. The strike began
on March 16th. The Union says that workers remain united and will continue to
fight until JBS fully ends unfair labor practices and pays a livable wage,
and shows them the respect they deserve.
DTN MORNING COMMENTS: It will likely be a typically quiet Monday morning,
with both buyers and sellers busy taking inventory and preparing for the week
ahead. Bids and asking prices have yet to be established, and significant
trade volume will probably be delayed until much later in the week. Beef
cutouts are expected to be lower with light box movement.
